OMG

October 04, 2024

No, she didn’t specify who “they” are, but that someone or someones, the unidentified “they” not only can control the weather but did so to produce the devastation from Hurricane Helene. Although Asheville is blue. Why hurt our own? Makes me wonder.

Here’s the kicker: Trump wouldn’t send aid to hard hit Orange County in California after devastating wildfires until he was told that there were more Trump voters there than in the whole state of Iowa.

The Facts Don’t Lie

Here’s Brian Kemp on Biden’s response::

"The president just called me yesterday afternoon — I missed him and called him right back," Kemp said at a Sept. 30 news conference in Augusta. "And he just said, ‘Hey, what do you need?’ And I told him, ‘You know, we got what we need, we will work through the federal process.’ He offered that if there's other things we need, just to call him directly, which, I appreciate that."

And then this from USA Today:

“A leather-bound Bible containing the Old and New Testaments along with historical U.S. documents is drawing mass attention after Oklahoma's schools superintendent called for $6 million to purchase Bibles for classrooms.

Last week, Superintendent Ryan Walters $3 million to provide a Bible in every public school classroom on top of the $3 million from last year.

Bid documents revealed that vendors must meet certain specifications to supply the state Department of Education with 55,000 Bibles: Bibles must be the King James Version; must contain the Old and New Testaments; must include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights; and must be bound in leather or leather-like material.”

Now here’s the not so surprising part: Only one Bible meets those standards, that hawked by supreme grifter Donald J. Trump. Oh sure, Walters is putting it out for bid. Which is worse? The mandated Bible for every teacher, or that Trump is miles ahead in the grift.

I wish I could find an article I read today by a woman who listed eleven acts she performs in her life to keep sane. The one that I’m focusing on right now is this: Turn Off the News. We’re a month away from what many believe (I’m one) is the most consequential election of our lifetimes, I watch CNN, MSNBC. I check them on my phone, my iPad. I know what’s going on. What I don’t know, though, is whether knowing what’s going on is more blessing than curse. The writer said that she doesn’t surround herself with negative people. The NEWS is negative. You don’t feel happy after watching the news, fulfilled or satisfied. It’s not like reading a good book, going to a play, or spending time with friends.

And when MTG, DJT, and religious zealots lead off the stories we watch, we have every reason to focus on the upcoming baseball playoffs, Burrow’s health, McCaffery’s Achilles, and simply send money, get dressed on November 5th and get rid of the slime.
