Trump posted a video on his Truth Social Account last night. He is a lion. Democrats are portrayed as animals, and in the end of the video they all bow down to the lion. I’m almost eighty years old, and never in my life have I witnessed (and continue to witness) such depravity, mindlessness, evil, from anyone I’ve ever known, much less, from an official representing the United States of America.
Fittingly, Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, had this to say: “This is from an Internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from ‘The Lion King,’” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public.” Perhaps why Trump’s name appears four or five thousand times in the Epstein files?

I didn’t put this in my blog because I have a unique insight into Trump. I’m not commenting about any of these, just posting them because in time people forget. Words can only record what happened, how people responded. When such events take place, and those who have the power to address them do nothing, we have a moral collapse caused by weakness and cowardice. Sad.
Beyond the racism of the ape-Obama post and the cruel Rob Reiner post is Trump’s attempt to rewrite history, create a mythological and factually incorrect accounting of an event that we all remember. Or do we? If we were to accept the following account, then we will betraying not only our memories but the truth. About January 6th the official White House account is as follows:
